I've Been Busy...
I've been so busy with other things lately that I forgot to mention something: Congratulations to the White Sox. I was shocked by their sweep of the Astros. I expected more of a fight. I was able to watch the game last Sunday, and it was good! The game on Tuesday night was WAY better! I heard bits and pieces as I drove back from Orlando with groceries and gas. When I got home, I turned on the radio to hear the last couple of innings. I fell asleep during the final game, but woke up when everyone on the radio was cheering. Woohoo! I won a dollar! Yes, that's right, I bet a whole dollar on the game. I couldn't afford more than that, and neither could my co-worker who made the bet.
I hope that in the next couple of years the World Series returns to Chicago. But, next time I hope it's my favorite team. Go Cubs! There were 86 years between Red Sox wins, and 88 for the White Sox. The Cubs haven't won in 97 years. They have only won the World Series twice. It was back-to-back wins in 1907 and 1908. They beat the Detroit Tigers both times. Maybe they can win the 2007 and 2008 series. I can hope, can't I?

The Red Sox have won it all, the White Sox have one it all. But let's not add the Cubs to the list--we want to keep at least one eternally pathetic team in the league.
Besides, every Cub fan I have known has a secret desire to continue to whine and moan every season and feel sorry for themselves. Why disappoint them?

That's for the Ratt remark, isn't it? ;)
I'm all for having a new pathetic team. If the Cubs win, we have several good choices. The Texas Rangers get my vote. They would make a much better pathetic team, since they have never won the World Series. They haven't even been to the World Series. In fact, once the Cubs win, I will focus my energy on dissing the Rangers. Those losers!
